The purpose of the project is to gain a better understanding of the relationship between damage ice with natural-site, forest stand management and silviculture and forest management impacts, mainly due to the definition of optimal silviculture and forest management measures after the end of sanitation works. The Institute participates in establishing a system for continuous monitoring of certain measurable performance indicators of forest ecosystem such as productivity, photosynthetic activity, chlorophyll content and moisture and leaf area index, at the forest management units level. We use data from satellite systems with a medium to low spatial resolution, but with frequent interval of observation.
