Department of Anthropological Studies

The Department of Anthropological Studies brings together a diverse community of anthropologists, archaeologists and cultural studies scholars who explore various socio-cultural processes and phenomena within and beyond Europe on the basis of long-term fieldwork. Our team consists of Slovenian researchers who are experts in their respective fields such as Papua New Guinea, Mexico, India, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Basque countries in Spain. All researchers are active members of several international professional associations and editorial boards of various scientific journals. Some of our members develop innovative interdisciplinary research in the fields of environmental anthropology and archaeology in collaboration with members of the Department of Remote Sensing.
