Nejc Čož graduated in civil engineering from the University of Ljubljana in 2013 with a thesis on dam-break flood analysis of embankment dams. In 2019, he completed his PhD in Hydro-environmental Engineering at Cardiff University in the UK, where he worked on a project entitled Numerical Modelling of Tidal Energy Structures in the Severn Estuary. In 2017, he spent four months as a visiting researcher at the Hydraulic Laboratory at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. His expertise includes water engineering, computational fluid dynamics, numerical modelling and data analysis (Python).
Since 2019, he has been working in the Remote Sensing Department of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU). He has worked on several projects such as AI for Earth Observation, Drought Monitoring and Automatic Orthorectification Service, acquiring skills in geospatial analysis and competence in handling remote sensing data. His main research interest is in hydraulic engineering and its impact on the environment, with particular interest in renewable energy, water management and flooding.
