Network project ArchaeoLandscapes Europe, funded by the European Union within the Culture 2007-2013 framework, gathers more than 40 organisations from several EU member states that are dealing with archaeological heritage. This five-year project promotes intraeuropean cooperation on the fields of education, research and usage of aerial photographs, laser scanning (lidar) and other remote sensing techniques for research and documenting of archaeological and cultural heritage. ZRC SAZU (Department of Remote Sensing within the IAPŠ) contributes to the workpackages dealing with recognition of surface microobjects from lidar data, and together with the University of Ljubljana (Department of Archaeology within the Faculty of Arts) to the spread of usage of archive aerial photograps as well as identification and accessability of their sources.
