Department of Anthropological studies brings together renowned Slovene social anthropologists and archaeologists who do research both within and outside Europe. All our researchers are the first Slovenes to carry out research in their respective field sites. they do research on Papua New Guinea, in Mexico, West Africa and the Horn of Africa and in Albania. They are active members of several international professional associations and of editorial boards of scientific journals. In collaboration with members of the Department of Remote Sensing they carry out innovative interdisciplinary research in the field of anthropology of space and place and archaeology.
